Family Day was a great success and many thanks to Aaron Perkins for securing the Awesome Facility to host this event. Lets start off with all of us thanking Atlantic Seafood for supplying the Wonderful seafood we had, and also Special Thanks to the Manager of Atlantic Seafood's ball-team Chris Aurgemma as well as Eddie and Ethan Fowler and Keith Knighton for going above and beyond to have the supplies there and dedication of their time. Also hats off to all of those who brought covered dishes. The results of the Home Run Derby for the Big Cash in 18-30 yr olds was Aaron Perkins 1st place and Johnathan Batts 2nd place, 31 + yr olds the money was split for a tie between Richard Marchese and Brian Doyle. For the bat give away 18-30the winner was Aaron Perkins,and the winner for the 31+ was Dean Coston. Lets all get ready for the second half of our Ball season, and the end of the Year Tournaments.
The coastal Men's Baseball league returned to the field this week with two night games to help beat the heat. On Tuesday night the Registers auto glass team defeated the Carolina Ale House and then Thursday night the 18+ Stingrays defeated the Play It Again Sports Hammerheads.

Stingrays edge Carolina Ale house 9-8. After early game jitters the Carolina Ale House playing in it's first ever game settled down and made a great game of it. Still they couldn't stop the Stingrays bats after Jay Slaughter slammed a triple in the 8th for the go ahead runs for the Stingrays. Kenny Smith led the Ale House at the plate with 4 hits and also pitched 7 innings in his Coastal Men's Baseball debut. Terry Ward had 3 Hits, Dean Costin and Jay Slaughter had 2 hits apiece. Reliever Daniel Ward picked up the win on the mound finishing up with 2 strong innings in his Coastal Mens Baseball debut
Play It Again Sports Hammerheads also remained unbeaten in the 31-45 league on the season with a win over Military Relocators. Registers Glass Repair lost a close one to Atlantic Seafood. While the 46 and over Stingrays stayed undefeated on the season beating Carolina Ale House at North Brunswick High School this past week.
The 18 and over Stingrays stayed unbeaten this week defeating Jeff Gordon Chevrolet 6-2. Winning pitcher Chris Coughlin also went 3 for 4 and Jonathan Batts was 3 for 3 with 2 homeruns. K. Kelly took the loss on the mound despite striking out 15 Stingrays. Chad Suggs went 3 for 4, Andy Evans and Robert Malkmus was 2 for 4 for Jeff Gordon.
Jeff Gordon Chevy "Super Sports" put one in the win column on Sunday. The Super Sports won 7-4 over Atlantic Seafood at Heide Trask High School.
The 18+ Stingrays lost their first game of the season to the Military Relocators out of Jacksonville,NC this past Sunday. The 18+ league is really shaping up for a great 2nd half with all teams showing strong performances in recent weeks.
The 46+ Stingrays stayed undefeated downing the Play It Again Hammerheads 11-10.
Carolina Ale House out slugged the 46+ Stingrays for a 20-19 win in 11 innings. This was the first win for the Ale House and the first loss for the stingrays. There are now no undefeated teams in Coastal Mens Baseball. There will be a full slate of games this Sunday and it will surely be a hot one!

Stingrays vs Military Relocators suspended after 4 innings
Bob Johnson shut down an explosive stingray offense pitching a complete game giving up only 2 runs Thursday night at Heide Trask High School.
The Military Relocators 18+ team won a thriller on Friday night at Heide Trask High School. Starting the game with a 4 run deficit from a previous rain out, the relocators took the lead with the Stingrays coming back to take the game into extra innings. The Stingrays then took the lead in the top of the 11th to see it slip away in the bottom of the inning and fall in a close one.
Jeff Gordon Chevy picked up a big win on Sunday at North Brunswick High School against the 18+ Stingrays. The "Super Sports" won 11-5 behind another strong outing from their ace Kurt Kelly. The win gives Jeff Gordon Chevy a .500 record on the season.
In the closest game of the week Registers took an early lead and then held on for a 9-8 win. After a few key additions Registers have become a team to watch out for.
Sammy Flowers made his Coastal Mens Baseball League pitching debut pitching the whole game as the Hammerheads beat the 46+ Stingrays 19-4 Sunday night at Topsail High School.
Mother nature won the first game of the week raining out the Ale House- Stingray game. Then on Sunday at Heide Trask High School Jeff Gordon Chevrolet defeated Play It Again Sports 11-4. In the closest game of the week the 18+ Stingrays Mike Capps slammed a walk off double in the bottom of the 10th to score Ethan Fowler to edge out the Military Relocators in a 5-4 thriller at North Brunswick High School. Then in the final game of the week Carolina Ale house defeated the 48+ Stingrays 7-0 in a 5 inning rain shortened game as Kenny smith went the distance on the mound.
