Carolina Ale House 2010
Carolina Ale House wrapped up a very successful first season Wednesday night with a 15-3 win over the Stingrays. Ale House started the season slow then won 8 of the last eleven games and fell just one game short in the 46+ division. Everyone played hard on the field but most of all a lot of fun was had every game. A lot of that thanks goes out to our 52 year old retired fireman David Bell! Everyone have a great off season and we will give it another shot next year.
Our last game of the season will now be Wednesday night at Trask High against the Stingrays. Sunday afternoon we are still planning on a team get together at the Ale House at about 5:30. Everyone please try to attend. Then good luck to the following Ale House players that will be going to the Roy Hobbs World Series tournament in Florida: Greg Fix, Chris Anselmo, Bob Johnson, Greg Allen, and Robert Myers.
Another bad defensive night did the Ale House in but we stuck in there to make it a close one in a 13-10 loss. Joe Carlson and Eric Brewer had 3 hits apiece to lead the Ale House while Bob Johnson and Alan Paull did excellent jobs on the mound. The season is coming to a quick end with only 2 games left in the season.
The Carolina Ale House bats returned in a big way Monday night pounding out 27 hits and scoring 25 runs in a 25-8 route of Registers Glass repair. Bob Johnson pitched 8 innings and Greg Fix was 5-6 in a great team effort. Ale House is back in action tomorrow night against the 46+ Stingrays.
Carolina Ale House fell 1 game back in league standings with a 7 -2 loss to the Stingrays Monday night. Greg Fix had an excellent game defensively and also led at the plate going 3 -4 with a double. Ale House's bats were not active enough to pull this one out. We have a busy week next week with a game on Monday night against Play It Again Sports and then Tuesday night against the Stingrays.
Carolina Ale House pulled another one out in the bottom of the ninth last night defeating Registers 15-14. Bob Johnson, Alan Paul and Kenny Smith shared pitching duties and Greg Allen had 4 hits with Eric Brewer and Bob Johnson adding 3 hits apiece and Kenny Smith with 2 doubles. We will have a practice Thursday afternoon followed by a team outing at Carolina Ale House. Everyone is invited to meet at the Ale House around 7 pm
The Carolina Ale House fell to the 46+ Stingrays Tueday night 11-7 after the usual stellar defense had a bad night. Everyone keep September 23rd on your schedule to have practice for about an hour or two then meet up over at the Ale House for a team outing to show our appreciation for their sponsorship.
With one out and no one on base, the Ale House struck for 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th to extend their win streak to 4 games in the 2nd half. Joe Carlson and Robert Myers led the team with 3 hits apiece at the plate while Bob Johnson pitched another gem going 8 innings on the mound. The Ale House is back in action next Tuesday night at 7 pm at Topsail High School.
Carolina Ale House defeated the Play It Again Sports Hammerheads 8-5 Sunday night behind the pitching of Bob Johnson. Bob also led the team at the plate going 2-3 on the night and Greg Fix led the defense. It was the 3rd win in a row for the Ale House.
The Carolina Ale House won its 2nd game in a row 7-0 in a 5 inning rain shortened game. Kenny Smith pitched 5 strong innings and Greg Allen had 3 hits with Joe Carlson and Robert Myers collecting 2 apiece. The Ale House takes on the Play It Again Sports Hammerheads next Sunday.
Carolina Ale House started the 2nd half of the season on the right foot defeating the 46+ Stingrays 9-4 at North Brunswick High School. Kenny Smith pitched 6 strong innings for the Ale House. Greg Allen and Smith had 3 hits apiece at the plate. Ale House is back in action on the 20th against the Stingrays.
